I enjoy tinkering with computers.
A friend got me started during the 486 era, but I've pretty much learned on my own how to build and tear down a computer,
and how to build and tweak basic HTML. This website is handwritten and updated using NOTEPAD, and transferred by FTP using FileZilla.
I've also purchased and set up 7 different Raspberry Pi computers. These are extremely small, fit-in-the-palm-of-your-hand mainboard computers using
Raspian which is a linux based OS. They DO NOT run any form of MS Windows. Look them up on Amazon if you are unfamiliar. Here's the main Win10 computer and peripherals:
We have one main computer running Windows 10 that is used for most everything, and we also have 4 laptops running Win10 and Win7,
2 more desktops running Win10, and finally 2 more desktops running Linux Mint. Clearly I enjoy collecting numerous used computers and parts. All of
these are 5 years old or older, but still work great.
Our Internet is 10gig service via DSL modem thru Centurylink. Fast enough for me.
Wireless Router is TP-Link Archer C7.
We have an HP LaserJet Pro M12w and a Brother MFC-J985DW All-in-One
Inkjet printer/scanner/fax.
Of these 7 Pi's:
2 Raspberry Pi Zero's, the smallest, are used for internet video cameras, part of MotionEye internet security.
1 Raspberry Pi Zero is used for Pi-Hole, an adblocker, which blocks maybe 25% of internet ads.
2 Raspberry Pi 3b are slightly larger and used as 2 more video cameras with MotionEye(4 total). I can see each of the 4 motioneye cameras from my cellphone
or any internet connection anywhere.
1 Raspberry Pi 4 is used as a Network Attached Storage, using OpenmediaVault with 2 drives - one 1TB Sata 3.5 inch and one 500GB Sata 2.5 inch spinning drives.
1 Raspberry Pi 4 was set up with Raspian X Nighthawk, which is a linux based Raspian version which mimics the look of Windows 10.
