We have lived here since 1993, and have lost count of all earthquakes we have felt in that time. Over 20. Here is a website of Recent
Earthquakes.
Being so close to the mountains, we also get a lot of rain here, averaging nearly 90 inches annually.
This compares with the average 30 inches per year for the metro Seattle area. Moss grows
well whether you want it or not. We also tend to get some good winds coming down from the mountains. Usually once a year we have a windstorm with possible damage.
See pictures of some 2004 damage that we had. AND, a big tree
we lost Jan 2009, very similar to the 2004 loss.
We have no kids, but we do have 3 cats, Sneakers, Chubbitz, & Spot.
I like to hike, there's a lot of good trails nearby, but I don't do near enough of it. I want to do more. Here are some photos of my favorite local hikes.
We like to travel, especially by train, but we don't do near enough of it. We were in Italy and London in May 2003, a business/pleasure trip. We loved the trains in both countries.
I have various videos posted on my YouTube channel - Animals, Travel, Yard & home stuff, Airplanes.
I like to work in the yard, when it isn't raining. We have a lawn of weeds. See the invention I've come up with to make my work easier(HUMOR).
I am involved with a non-political semi-environmental advocacy group. Please take a look, and GET INVOLVED!(HUMOR).
What
Rick does during the week
I have
been a licensed U.S.Customs Broker since 1987. I've been in the Customs
Broker industry since 1977. I am employed by Total Freight Logistics Int'l, a small Customs Broker & Freight Forwarder in
Tacoma. Its a small Company with only 4 people. As a broker, we clear cargo thru US Customs on behalf
of Importers, when it is imported from nearly anywhere. As a freight forwarder,
we can then arrange delivery of it to its destination. We also work with
Exporters to ship cargo from the U.S. to nearly anywhere internationally.
I am Vice Pres., Imports.
